Trying Again

Full disclosure ~ I'm old enough to realize that blogging is something I want to do to keep up with the 'changing times'.  I'm also old enough to be set in old patterns, which makes blogging hard to do.  Yet, a friend of mine invited me to a group of Emergent church types who encouraged me to take it up again.

I've been a solo pastor for all of five months.  I'm still trying to find my groove in scheduling, which I'm pretty sure will take at least the first year.  It's been great getting to know a new congregation and community.

In preparation for a Christian Practices class with Barbara Brown Taylor, I'm reading "Testimony: Talking Ourselves into Being Christian" by Tom Long.  My favorite quote for the weekend sermon is: Unless you can say it, you don't really believe it. (p.7)  What do we say about our faith?
